There’s still 2 hours left before Friday is over…. 5 Question Friday!

Phew, I’m going to get this post done before Friday is over!

My sister was nice enough to watch my kids today so I could run to Costco and Trader Joes. My hubby was nice enough to slip me some cash, and told me to have a nice lunch and a pedicure. Instead, I had lunch at the Costco food court, and skipped the pedi- I ran out of time!

Ruby got to take her first ride in Jeff’s semi truck this evening.  He installed her car seat in the passenger side, and drove her across town. She was thrilled!

On to Five Question Friday- hosted by Mama M at Five Crooked Halos. One of my questions was chosen this week, so I thought I’d better participate!

1. Groceries are high right now what is easiest way you have found to cut back?
Well, I am not a couponer.
I try to plan my meals out in advance, so I can use the leftovers in a different way later in the week. I buy most of my meat in bulk at Costco, then use my Seal a Meal to freeze it in smaller packages.  Oh, and we got 1/3rd of a pig for Christmas.  I use my freezer a lot.
2. What are the top 3 things on your “bucket list”?
This was my question! After my brush with death, I think I need to make a bucket list, or at least a list of some priorities. #1. Get in some sort of better shape, and compete in some type of sporting event- I’m giving myself lots of leeway here. Maybe it will be something simple like frisbee golf, but I need to identify some kind of fitness goal to work towards. #2.
Write a book. Probably a romance novel. #3. Take a cruise on the Panama Canal. Minus our children. I feel like this is a pretty lame list- I need to work on it.
3. Would you rather give up AC or heat?
I would give up heat any day!  I can always put on a sweater or wrap up in a blanket. Chubby girls don’t like the heat.
4. What’s your favorite cocktail??
Huh. I like a good Bloody Mary, or a Michelada at our favorite Mexican place. Otherwise, Malibu sour.
5. What was your first job & how old were you?
I babysat the summers when I was 14 and 15, then started working at our little town’s grocery store when I was 15. After that, I was a waitress, nanny, worked at MN Relay doing relay calls for deaf people, sold Kirby vacuum cleaners for a day, worked at a Humane Society, scooped ice cream at a grocery store for a day, worked in a Chinese restaurant, worked for a trucking company, worked for an appliance store, then finally chose my career. This is the longest period of time that I haven’t worked since I was 14! Time to find a job I think….
Well, I guess that’s it for my Friday. Time for this tired mommy to go to bed!
