Enjoying the snow day….
Enjoying the snow day….

I still haven’t fixed my keyboard, so blogging is tough!
This episode of Traumatic Tuesday hails from around 5th grade. One of my friends went on vacation to the Black Hills, and came back with some special clay to do facials with. (or so she claimed) My friend Amber and I thought this sounded neat, so the next time we were at her house, we decided to give each other mud mask facials. First, we had to locate some clay. We found the perfect clay on the shores of their duck pond. We proceeded to mix the clay with all sorts of goodies, I think there was an egg in there, and probably some Sea Breeze. We applied the facials…. And that’s when we got busted. With duck poop on our faces. With the whole bathroom covered in duck poop mud. With the sink clogged up and a full basin of duck poop water stuck in it. That was fun to clean up.
In 4th grade I was in an advanced reading class with 5 or 6 other students. Each week we had vocabulary words to learn…and then we’d go around the group and each discuss one of the words. I clearly remember the one time I didn’t study my words. When it was my turn, my word was ‘determined’. How humiliating was it when I pronounced it deter-mind-did? Very. Everyone laughed. And now EVERY TIME I see or hear the word determined, I am transported back to feeling stupid.
Really, not a big deal in the grand scheme of things…but it’s sticks in my mind. And I have a really bad memory so it always amazes me that something so silly is stuck in it.
Have a fabulous Tuesday and see you tomorrow!

Happy Monday! I’m having an extremely lazy day…apparently that trip to the Mall of America was too much for me to handle! Or….I’m just lazy.
This is one of my favorite videos…two of my favorite dudes! I love how Peter (the dog) crawls up to Cash as Cash is crawling towards him. So sweet…until he starts to get a little too close. Now Peter just knocks Cash down all the time and it’s not so cute.

Today we went to the Mall of America. We started with lunch at the Rainforest Cafe where Little Dude immediately bellied up to the bar.
A quick family photo op with the fish before heading to our table. We could potentially be the least photogenic family on the planet…

Little Dude ordered a drink that cost more than his meal…but at least we didn’t have to steal the cup. We sat in the elephant area and he was ‘scared’ for most of the meal. I’m not sure that having a fake tropical storm occur while a person is eating is the best idea…at least one kid at every table surrounding us was upset about it, Little Dude included.

With full bellies, it was off to Lego Land! Little Dude is currently obsessed with these tiny objects but only stood still long enough to pose with the all-Lego Woody. Super cool. Unfortunately, Little Dude had spied a roller coaster outside the store and couldn’t be bothered to pick out a new Lego set. I still made Husband pick a couple up to combat any future meltdowns- which we didn’t need but he got a new kit when we got home. Turns out I really like to put together Legos too.

So it was off to Nickelodeon Universe…where SpongeBob was making a live appearance! Yes! I am not sure I have ever seen Little Dude willingly give anyone anything anyone a hug but apparently he’s a big SpongeBob fan!

A quick bus ride was just the warm up for the good rides.

Same with the weird alien ride.

Then it was off to the carousel. I almost lost Little Dude a few times…that baby was flying! They have the coolest animals on this carousel- Little Dude picked a neat dragon even though I was trying to push him towards a rooster.
We rode on Diego’s Adventure Bus and then on to the Swiper’s Sweeper. Apparently Little Dude is VERY SERIOUS about not letting Swiper swipe anything…he had his mean face ready for the ride. This was the favorite ride of the day, Little Dude and I giggled and screamed the whole time. So fun.

It had been a long day so Husband and Little Dude got ready for the last ride before heading home. They are best buddies (love this pic)!

Goodbye train!

We were in the car about a minute before Little Dude crashed. It was such a fun afternoon…but this mommy is tired!

Ahhh. This was one of my favorite Saturdays. Usually, Little Dude and I are just lazy on Saturdays (much like every other day of the week). Today was pretty much the same but I actually left my house…for this:

After a couple too many glasses of wine last night with my girlfriends, I was feeling a bit fragile this morning but had a breakfast date with another group of fabulous friends! My sister will be telling the complete breakfast story complete with pictures of something other than my latte.
Little Dude had a new babysitter today since our Manny has found a full time job (sniff-sniff). She was so cute and he was alive when I got home so I’m sure everything went fine.
Little Dude and I played outside for what felt like hours…which amounts to about 30 minutes in real life time. I really don’t like to be cold.
Then we read some books. Here he is being the wolf from The Three Little Pigs:

Um, I guess that’s all we did today besides a two hour joint nap and laundry. Oh, and we watched the movie Zookeeper 3 times. But it was a good day anyway!
Tomorrow is off to the Mall of America! Pray for us.

Time for Five Question Friday!
As always, Five Question Friday is hosted by Mama M at Five Crooked Halos.
Uffda! I’m tired! Hubby is working extra this week, so it’s just me and the non-sleeping kids. I took Rex to the chiropractor yesterday in hopes it would help him sleep better. She thought he had some problems in his lower back, and some big problems in his collarbone area. I believe her, yet I also feel like she needs to find something wrong to “fix”. He was very tired all day yesterday after his adjustment, then was up 4 times in under 4 hours last night, followed by his normal 2 hour stretches of sleep. I need a nap! Although I would love to sleep in tomorrow morning (the only possible morning until Wednesday), I have a breakfast date with some awesome girls that I have been looking forward to for weeks!
On another note, my laptop keyboard has quit working on the left side. I have been using the copy and paste method for letters that don’t work. I think it is a physical problem, as the keys don’t really click well. Any ideas?
Time for Five Question Friday!
As always, Five Question Friday is hosted by Mama M at Five Crooked Halos. I look forward to the questions every week!Somehow, I’ve gotten my justification (is that the word?) stuck in “Center” and can’t get back to “Left”. Guess we’ll just go with it. Sigh. This is just how my week is.
